Ian Cashill to Lead Seymour VRI into Goulburn Murray Bowls Region
74th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING MINUTES
14th May 2021
As the club heads into a new future as one of the 23 clubs making up the of the Goulburn Playing Area and with another 14 clubs making up the Murray Playing Area in the newly formed Goulburn Murray Bowls Region we held our Annual General Meeting with 42 members in attendance and another 12 offering apologies, we were of to a great start for the 2021-22 season.
Our 73rd Annual Report was Presented:
Presidents Report:
The President, Wayne Noonan’s report on all matters relating to the functions of the Club over the past season included in the Annual report were taken as read.
Secretary’s Report:
The Secretary, Stephen McGregor’s administrative report to the club which was included in the Annual Report was taken as read.
Treasurer’s Report:
The Treasurer, Helen Flint delivered a comprehensive financial report to the meeting (noting that trading had again been affected somewhat by the COVID-19 regulations forcing an early and somewhat lengthy closure to trading) once again showing a healthy balance to commence trading for the 2021 – 2022 season.
Election of Board:
All positions were declared vacant with no voting required for most positions as nominations did not exceed the required numbers and were declared appointed; Ballots required for Board and Match/Selection Committee;

As nominations (1) did not exceed the required number of positions a ballot was not required and the following nominee was elected:

Annual Subscription
Taking into consideration that all members MUST be members of the VRI Inc our Club Membership for the 2021-22 season was set at $60 for Adults and $20 for Juniors (Under18)

“B” Grade Singles Entry
To encourage greater numbers eligible to enter the B Grade Singles it was agreed that it be open to all members irrespective of handicaps, unless they have won a Club or B Grade Singles Title.
New Members 1st Year Club Subscription & Pennant Shirt
In an effort to lower the cost to new Members into the club the members agreed that they have their first year’s Club Subscription waived and also receive their initial Pennant Shirt free of charge.
Members Allocated to Sub-Committees
Discussion regarding allocating members to Sub-Committees with specific roles to assist with maintaining a healthy club environment.
Presidents Address
The new President addressed the meeting on his thoughts for the coming season as we head into a new era for the club and offered the thanks of the members to the outgoing President Wayne Noonan and Treasurer Helen Flint.
Closure
There being no further General Business the President declared the meeting closed at 7.10pm
